Deputy Governor - Alhaji Adamu Dibal

Alhaji Adamu Shettima Yuguda Dibal is humility personified. If you were not told, you can pass him by, without noticing his presence. Yet, this is a man who has brought his wealth of experience to positively impact on the destiny of the administration of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff through un-equaled loyalty, dedication to the cause of good governance and commitment to the vision of the governor, which anchors on the well-being of the people.

Born October 19, 1966 at Biu, Biu Local Government Area to Alhaji Shettima Yuguda Dibal and Late Hajiya Zara Shettima Dibal, Alhaji Adamu Dibal started education training with the Quaranic Tsangaya system which was intended to prepare the young one for a future embedded in purity of life and fear of God. After that early initiation, his father, the District Head of Sakwa and Kwajaffa, enrolled Adamu into Sakwa Central Primary School. Here he completed his elementary education in 1980. From there, he proceeded to Borno Teacher's Grade II Certificate in 1986. He was to move into the University of Maiduguri where he studied Public Administration.

After the University education and instead of settling for the readily available public service employment, the adventurous young man moved far away to Lagos where he was engaged as a Clerk by Saval West Africa Limited and later rose to the position of a Shipping Manager before moving to Ayo Afolabi Shipping Ventures where his commitment to set objectives and productivity manifested. He was there asa Shipping Supervisor.

Having served others and gathered tremendous experiences, Alhaji Adamu Dibal set out to stand on his own. Among his personal investments include Shaba Ventures, Bahima Nigeria Limited and Sarama Investments.

Apart from being the Chairman and Chief Executive of these companies, he had interest in other blue-chip organizations including Dibal Maritime Services Limited. Having made a name for him, it was time to contribute to the society and Alhaji Adamu saw politics as an avenue to do that. He played very active roles in facilitating the Abdul Salami Abubakar's transition program. His declaration of intention to join the All Nigeria People's Party was received by his people with jubilation.

Since becoming the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Adamu Dibal, working beside a man of vision and action like Ali Modu Sheriff, has found politics an avenue to touch the lives of the poor, the needy and the neglected. He has continually stood by the side of the governor and together, they have provided what could be termed, the best combination of patriots in Nigerian Public Administration.

A widely exposed gentleman, Alhaji Adamu Dibal has traveled to Chad, Cameron, Niger, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, France, the United States and the Netherlands. He has also visited China, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom. A philanthropist of the first-class order, Alhaji Adamu runs a scholarship fund that have benefited many indigent students from within and outside Borno State. A professional Chief Launcher at social events, he has contributed immensely to several developmental projects by communities and religious organizations.

Conferred with the title of Sardunan Biu by His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Mustapha, the Emir of Biu, Alhaji Adamu is a devout lover of football and other sporting activities.

A highly principled and disciplined man, the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Adamu Shettima Yuguda Dibal is happily married with children.
