Some of the major achievements recorded in the last two years:

Health Sector
  1. Government restructure the Drug Revolving Fund Scheme (DRFS) and made it more effective through the provision of adequate funds to produce drugs for distribution at subsidize rate in all the 33 General Hospitals in the State.
  2. Ensure the provision of basic facilities and hospital equipment as well as the general renovation of the state specialists hospital.
  3. Recruitment of qualified medical doctors and other health professionals.
  4. Embarking on the completion and rehabilitation of the six (6) out of ten (10) abandoned comprehensive health centers across the state.
  5. Embarked on the construction of a new befitting 150 bed capacity General Hospital in Maiduguri at the total cost of N300m. Similarly, a new General Hospital is being constructed at Askira in Askira Uba Local Government Area.
  6. At the preventive health sub-sector, Government has been setting aside substantial amount to produce enough CSM, yellow fever and measles vaccines to protect the vulnerable population against contacting the disease.
  7. To enhance the activities of HIV/AIDs program in the state government has released its counterpart fund to the State Action Committee on Aids.

Education Sector
  1. Government embarked on the improvement of all the 87 post primary schools in the state infra structural facilities, feeding and health condition of our students and provide free exercise, books and school uniforms.
  2. Several school classrooms, hostels, dinning halls, kitchen and administrative blocks have been rehabilitated.
  3. Government has established and equipped 10 Girl-Child of Tsangaya/Almajiri formal education under the Agency for Mass Literacy.
  4. Yearly scholarship allowances are being disbursed to all indigenes of the state studying at institutions of high learning both within and outside the country.


Agriculture and Natural Resources
  1. Fertilizer and other farm implements and chemicals were being procured and distributed to farmers at subsidized rate.
  2. Government procured over 100 tractors and distributed to Local Government Areas to be made available to our farmers on hire basis.
  3. Heavy duty plants and equipment for rural road maintenance and earth construction were repaired through the Borno State Agricultural Development Programs and several rural feeder roads are being constructed and maintained across the state.
  4. Ultra modern veterinary hospital has been constructed in Maiduguri.


Commerce, Industry and Tourism
  1. Rehabilitation of all dormant industries in the State particularly the Neital Shoe Factory, Borno Plastic Company, Wire and Nail Industry.
  2. Establishment of Free Trade Zones at Banki, Gamboru Ngala and Damasak to boost International Trade with neighboring countries.
  3. Under tourism, the state Government has constructed Dikwa Holiday Resort and the expansion and construction of State Hotel across the state.


Works and Environment
  1. Embarked on the construction of 777 Mairamri Housing Projects to be commissioned soon.
  2. Award the construction of 500 housing unit along Gamboru Road. In addition to the construction of 20 housing units in each of the 27 Local Government Areas.
  3. Embarked on the construction of over 50km roads and 60km roads and drainage network respectfully across the state capital.


Urban and Rural Water Supply Sector
  1. Rehabilitated the Alu Water pumping stations and the treatment plant and procured several tons of alum as well as the repairs and maintenance of the stand by generator.
  2. Procurement of 387 assorted generators and distributed to 16 each to the 27 LGAs
  3. Purchased 2 drilling rigs and 3 super rigs capable of drilling a borehole in 488 hours for the drilling of boreholes across the state.


Women Affairs and Social Development
  1. Renovated facilities and improved services of Maiduguri Renn and Home and Borno Ceramic Industry.
  2. Provided working materials to the Bulumkuttu Rehabilitation Center and Blind Farm Training Center.
  3. Trained about 3310 women in acquiring various skills such as tailoring, knitting, typing to enhance their productivity.
